Hello Frances - I stumbled across your post while searching for tidbits about Vanessa Bell, and was thrilled to find your review of this novel. I'm in the middle of reading Katie Roiphe's Uncommon Arrangements, a series of biographical vignettes highlighting unusual menages among 1920s English intellectuals, and Vanessa Bell's household is among them. I'd known very little about her and her relationship with Virginia before, so I look forward to looking up Sellers' novel! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on it.

Frances

I didn't get to Charleston that summer, but it's still on my 'to visit' hot list
